Trimurti represents the three fundamental forces through which the Universe is created, maintained and destroyed in cycles. The 3 functions have been personified as a triad of Gods of supreme divinity – Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer.

Tridevi is a triad of Goddesses of supreme divinity personified by Goddesses Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati who embody the strength or power (Adi Shakti) required to carry out the functions of creation, preservation and destruction.

The Aum or Om, both symbol and the sound is associated with all the Gods and their functions. The sounds (phonetics) A, U, M of the word are considered to be creation, preservation and destruction adding up to represent Trimurti and Tridevi. Every chant to the God starts with Om.

With Brahma, Om is the first sound of creation and vibration of the universe. Om is the sum of all the Vedas. With Vishnu, it is the victory sound from the conch. With Shiva, it is the sound from the Damaru. With Saraswati, Om is the first sound of speech, music and knowledge. With Lakshmi, it is the symbol of auspiciousness. With Parvati, it is the symbol of energy. Om is associated with every God.
